What to expect

Starting from the village of Jachenau, the trail ascends steadily through shaded woodlands before reaching the open pastures near Pfundalm, which, while not offering refreshments, provides a picturesque spot for a break. The final ascent to the summit involves a steeper, rocky path requiring surefootedness, but rewards hikers with panoramic views of the Walchensee, Benediktenwand, and even the distant Zugspitze. On our way back, we can stop at Kochel am See and go for a swim in the lake.

Travel

Start: 7:45 am at Munich main station

End: approx. 7 pm at Munich main station

What to bring

• Hiking shoes, rucksack, waterproof rain jacket (& rain trousers), hiking poles
• Sun protection: cream, hat, sunglasses
• Water (2-3 liter) & packed lunch, snacks

Cancellation

Day hikes are non-refundable but can be rescheduled to another date. A tour will only be cancelled due to weather in the case of an official weather warning. In case of unfavorable weather, the route may be adjusted to the conditions. Alternatively, you may move your booking to another date. If the tour is cancelled, you can cancel your booking free of charge. Any costs incurred in connection with participation in the hike (e.g. travel or accommodation) are not reimbursable.
