Finding peace in stillness
![]()
What to expect
Nestled at the end of a quiet valley, the beautiful Potsdamer Hut sits beside a crystal-clear mountain stream – a peaceful haven where time slows down and you can gently return to yourself. Each day begins with an uplifting yoga session in the hut’s newly build yoga room, surrounded by the stillness of the early morning mountains. Afterwards, we head out on scenic hikes through wildflower meadows and along quiet forest trails. Along the way, we pause to breathe, to be, and to connect as I guide you through grounding meditations in the heart of nature accompanied by the sound of my Ukulele. In the soft afternoon light, we roll out our mats once more, moving through gentle, nourishing yin flows that leave body and mind deeply at ease. In the evenings, the lovely hut team spoils us with wholesome vegetarian or vegan meals made from fresh, regional ingredients. This retreat is a chance to come home – to nature, to stillness, and to yourself.
Physical requirements
We hike for about four hours on most days, with one full-day hike of around eight hours, mostly along narrow mountain trails. You should be reasonably fit, sure-footed, and comfortable with heights, but there are no technically challenging sections on our routes. You’ll need to carry your own backpack with everything you need for the four days up to the hut. Since we stay in one location, you’re always free to take a rest day if you wish.

Fitness |
Medium (2/5) A mix of longer and shorter distances and altitude gain each day. |
|
Difficulty |
Medium (2/5) Mostly narrow hiking paths, which are at times steep. |
Please note that it is your responsibility to make sure that you are fit enough and able to participate in this trip. If you have never hiked with me before or are unsure whether you meet the physical and technical requirements or whether you have the right equipment, I’d be very happy to speak over the phone with you about the trip in advance. Please keep in mind that, no matter how the routes are rated, multi-day hikes in the Alps may feel difficult if you have not hiked in the Alps before.
Yoga
In the morning classes, we gently awaken the body with soft stretches, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the mountains. After our hikes, I guide you through relaxing yin yoga sessions, where we hold postures for longer to deeply release tired muscles and turn inward. The yoga practice is suitable for everyone – no prior experience is needed.

Accommodation
Potsdamer hut is a simple mountain hut, and we stay in shared rooms, yet only sharing within our group. The hut has washing facilities incl. showers. There is a dry room for hiking gear, two cosy common rooms and a large sun terrace that we share with other hikers. We can also use the hut's newly refurbished yoga & meditation room in case of rain. The hut serves buffet-style breakfast that features a lot of wholesome and homemade regional produce, such as jam, yoghurt and butter from the cows around the hut. The food is exceptional, and the hut team can cater for dietary restrictions if you let me know in advance.

Programme
Day 1 - Potsdamer Hütte (2020 m)
10 km, ↑1000 m, 4 hrs walking time (not including breaks)
We meet at Munich or Innsbruck main station and continue by bus to Sellrain from where we take the road that soon turns into a gravel path up to Potsdamer Hütte. In the afternoon we explore the surroundings and hold our opening circle in the hut's new yoga room.
Day 2 – Vorderer Wildkopf (2640 m)
9 km, ↑↓600 m, 3.5 hrs
After practising yoga in the morning and breakfast we leave the hut to the south-east and after crossing the river we start hiking gently uphill until we reach a green meadow called “The old world”. Here cows, sheep and goats graze all summer, and we may witness the shepherd calling them down the slopes on his daily routine walk. We continue on a steep slope for an hour until we reach the pass that opens fantastic views over the glaciers of the Stubai Alps. We continue for another ten minutes until we reach the peak, where we have lunch. Afterward, I guide you through a gentle meditation, inviting you to settle into stillness, breathe deeply, and connect with the quiet majesty of the surrounding peaks. On the way back to the hut the river invites for a refreshing break on a sunny day.
Day 3 – Roter Kogel (2832 m)
10 km, ↑↓880 m, 5 hrs
Our hike today leads us across green alpine meadows to the summits of the Roter Kogel and the Sömen, where we are rewarded with breathtaking views over the entire Stubai Alps. At the peak, I guide a meditation, inviting you to pause and take in the vastness around you. On the way back, several mountain lakes invite you to take a refreshing swim and enjoy the beauty of the day.
Day 4 – Descent
10 km, ↓1000 m, 2 hrs
After early morning yoga, we take our time to enjoy a leisurely breakfast before beginning our descent to Sellrain. There, a bus will take us back to Innsbruck, from where we continue our journey by train back to Munich.
Note that our hiking days may differ from the described programme due to weather and path conditions or the physical ability of the group.
